The Flow Detect notebook
Why does the boiler pressure keep falling?
Understand what pressure loss can tell you before assuming there is a pipe leak.
A reading is a symptom
The gauge shows system pressure, so a fall is a reason to investigate. It does not distinguish a hidden pipe problem from an accessible connection or an appliance issue. Earlier heating engineer findings are useful context.
Look for a pattern
Record whether pressure changes over hours or days and whether it relates to heating operation. Mention visible moisture around radiators and the history of recent changes. You do not need to dismantle anything.
Choose the next check
A relevant appliance assessment may be the right first step. Where concealed pipework remains suspect, suitable circuit checks can help focus a leak investigation before a floor is opened.
Put the information into context
This guide explains common investigation principles. Your property, the available access and the actual test findings determine the right next step. It is not a diagnosis of an unseen system.
